"The port was quickly encased by a dusk and a fierce storm. A loud clanging of bells was heard from the city towers, calling everyone to hurry home. The usually joyful and lively streets of the port, full of trade and dancing, froze, and a ghastly silence spread over the city. The torrent of water started beating the roofs like a thousand whips, the city streets turned to shallow rivers. A blinding darkness, only stopped by flashes of lightning, soaked into every nook and cranny of every alley, and the thick, black haze of the storm surrounded the city in a way where neither the island's mountains from the west, nor the wavey sea from the east could be seen."

Your Heart Is Forged From Bronze
Synopsys
Your Heart Is Forged From Bronze is a Lithuanian fantasy-adventure novel, actively being written by me. It takes place in a world of many islands, ruled by two major powers; the Empire and the Confederation. After a century long blockade, the Witches of Murgann seek out a long sought after powerful artifact; the Bronzen Heart. It is believed that this artifact lies somewhere within the ancient Forest of Ravan, populated by the Ancient Druids, from whom the Witches of Murgann descended from. One of these witches - Veronica - ends up in the cargo hold of a merchant named Ani. Held at gunpoint, Ani is forced to cooperate and transport her to the West, where the Forest of Ravan resides. But things quickly go wrong once they dock at an island on their way there.Characters
First, we have the main character, Ani of the Seas, or just Ani or "The Merchant". He is a merchant who travels across islands. He has never earned much from it, but he's always been happy - he loves the sea, it is home to him. One evening, when he left the island of Kormilon, a terrifying witch named Veronica came out of his boat's cargo hold. After some negotiating (in which Ani is good at), they agreed to Ani taking her to the West. He does not remember where he was born, for he has been sailing the seas since he was a small child (hence the name, which he gave to himself, "Ani of the Seas"). As an older teen, he got his first boat which served him for many more years until it was taken when he became a fugitive of the Confederation for suspicion of transporting a witch from Morsonia (current events of the book). To avoid severe punishment, he joins the crew of Captain Zodar Hertzog. He is an adventurous person and, although he is often rash, he has lots of knowledge about the world and knows how peope work, allowing him to be a master negotiator. Then we have Veronica, the witch (druid) from the island of Morsonia, also known as Murgann, formerly Coson. She grew up among a family of witches (druid families are not blood related, but more akin to brotherhoods/sisterhoods). After receiving the official title of Druid, the plan to find the Bronzen Heart, a very powerful magical artifact that could allow them to finally destroy the blockage which has been enacted on the island for over a century, began and Veronica, among other Druids, was tasked with setting out to the ancient Forest of Ravan populated by even more Druids, from whom the Witches of Murgann descended from. After using powerful magic to propagate herself through a storm summoned by the High Druids, she landed on the island of Kormilon, where she hid in the cargo hold of a random ship. That ship turned out to belong to a merchant named Ani. Due to her lack of sailing skills, she threatened Ani and coerced him to transport her to the West. Everything went wrong once they stopped at the island of Mein, where Confederate navymen suspected him of transporting a witch from Morsonia. She uses her invisibility magic and escaped the ship, hiding in Captain Hertzog's ship. She is a careful person and wants the best for herself and her people back home.
Captain Zodar Hertzog, meanwhile, is a rather unique character. After he became a Captain of the Imperial Navy, he deserted and became a pirate because he was unhappy with how ineffective the Imperial Navy is. Although he did not raid or attack Imperial ships, he was a scourge on the Southern Islands, under control of the Confederation. His skill in naval batttle was extraordinary, and he once managed to win a battle against 3 Confederate ships with just his ship. For this reason, the Imperial Navy stopped trying to hunt him down, instead hiring him as a Privateer to fight Confederate ships. He often patrols Confederate and Imperial waters under the false flag of Kormilon, a free port. His personality is often cruel, manipulative, and calculating, but he can be a powerful ally.
