"The port was quickly encased by a dusk and a fierce storm. A loud clanging of bells was heard from the city towers, calling everyone to hurry home. The usually joyful and lively streets of the port, full of trade and dancing, froze, and a ghastly silence spread over the city. The torrent of water started beating the roofs like a thousand whips, the city streets turned to shallow rivers. A blinding darkness, only stopped by flashes of lightning, soaked into every nook and cranny of every alley, and the thick, black haze of the storm surrounded the city in a way where neither the island's mountains from the west, nor the wavey sea from the east could be seen."

Your Heart Is Forged From Bronze

Synopsys

Your Heart Is Forged From Bronze is a Lithuanian fantasy-adventure novel, actively being written by me. It takes place in a world of many islands, ruled by two major powers; the Empire and the Confederation. After a century long blockade, the Witches of Murgann seek out a long sought after powerful artifact; the Bronzen Heart. It is believed that this artifact lies somewhere within the mythical land of Ravan, populated by the Ancient Druids, from whom the Witches of Murgann descended from. One of these witches - Veronica - ends up in the cargo hold of a merchant named Ani. Held at gunpoint, Ani is forced to cooperate and transport her to the West, where Ravan resides. Despite this, the two slowly warm up to each other.

Characters

Ani, a young long-time (but still poor) merchant, who goes by Ani of the Seas, or, in the Maetian language, Ani Aninëre. He was born in the sea, grew up in the sea, and continues sailing the seas to this day; the ocean has become his home, thus his self-given name, which roughly translates to "sea of the seas". He is adventureous, and often gets sidetracked with just sailing wherever the wind takes him with the small bit of money he earns from selling cargo. He learned to speak Maetian and conversational Tareinic growing up travelling with many different people, allowing him to conduct his business in many parts of the world. He has many acquaintances around the world, and knows how to deal with people. Although he just views himself as a simple merchant, he slowly becomes more and more important in world affairs as he travels with Veronica.
